Here are some tips from the COE's Information Technology Lab (on the 2nd floor of the COE): http://itc.gsu.edu/poster_PowerPoint.htm

(I think these tips are good for the IS&T service. As you read this information, you'll begin to think that the COE-ITS can print your poster, but it's my understanding that they don't do that much anymore...and they refer out to IS&T)

To get a poster printed at GSU's IS&T Digital Media Lab

(You don't have to do this. You could make your own or get one printed elsewhere...this is just for those of you who want to do it this way)

Step 1: Create a PowerPoint slide show --imagine them in a matrix (so 9, 12, 15, 16...any of those combinations will do because they'll just be placed in a matrix on the poster). Be sure to number your slides so the reader of your poster knows what direction to read.

Step 2: Email the PowerPoint to GSU's lab at OR walk it to the lab in the basement of Classroom South (on the same side of the road as the College of Ed on Decatur St, near the library). You'll need to tell them: your name, how big you want the poster (I suggest something around 30"x40"--but there's no set standard),  when you need it, an email address, and as many phone numbers as you have. If you don't hear back from them right away, call to follow up. Get a name of someone who's handling it for you.

Their email is: opropr@langate.gsu.edu

Phone: 404-413-4413

(NOTE: They're only open during the week)

Step 3: Pick up your poster at the lab in the basement of the Classroom South building and be ready to pay (about $40-65 depending on the size of your poster.)

Step 4: Flaunt your poster at the Conference (HOORAY!)

Hope that helps,

Caitlin
